Our History

1856 - Founding

P. Bradley & Sons was established by Philo Bradley in 1865 as an iron foundry, specializing in plowshares, iron tools and other farming implements. The original foundry supported the local and state agricultural community, including much of the eastern seaboard.

Over time, the foundry diversified its product line to include reapers, kettles, polished wagon boxes, andirons, circular saw mills, road scrapers, municipal hardware, drain covers, and manhole lids. By the 1930s, P. Bradley & Sons began losing its market share to the more durable and mass-produced, steel plowshares and the foundry ceased operations in 1962.

1963 - Retooling

After closing the iron foundry, P. Bradley & Sons carried forward their commitment to the agricultural community by embracing the new era of tractors and mechanized farm equipment. Over the years, the business became a trusted source for farmers seeking dependable machinery, parts, and service, helping operations across the Shenandoah Valley adapt to modern farming practices. What began as a small foundry evolved into a full-service dealership, continuing the tradition of supporting local agriculture with innovation, reliability, and hometown values.

2000 - The Driver Family

In 2000, P. Bradley & Sons entered a new chapter when the Driver family purchased the business. With deep roots in agriculture themselves, the Drivers carried forward the company’s long-standing commitment to serving the Shenandoah Valley farming community. Their focus has remained the same: providing dependable equipment, parts, and service while upholding the trusted reputation that P. Bradley & Sons has built for generations.

Today - continuing to serve

Today, P. Bradley & Sons continues to proudly serve the agricultural community with the same values that built our reputation generations ago.
